*Christmas*

Is there room in your Heart for Jesus?

What is Christmas all about and what does it mean to you?

-Is it a time to sit back and wonder, what is in this for me or what will I

receive?

-Many people are so busy making preparations that they forget the very

purpose.

-Others have taken Christ out of Christmas because they see no need of a Savior.

-Most people are so focused on buying, selling, giving, and taking that there is no

room left for Jesus.

If Jesus is not the center of this season, then we have missed the mark.

Are you representing Jesus this season?

Have you even stopped to think?

What would Jesus do, if he was here in the flesh, to celebrate Christmas with you?

What if he came to your house and spent the day with you?

If Jesus Came to Your House:

If Jesus came to your house To spend some time with you, If He came unexpected, I wonder what you’d do. Oh, I know you’d give your nicest room To such an honored guest And all the food you’d give to Him Would be the very best. And you would keep assuring Him You’re glad to have Him there— That serving Him in your home Is joy beyond compare. But when you saw Him coming, Would you meet Him at the door With arms outstretched in welcome To your heavenly visitor?

Or would you have to change your clothes Before you let Him in Or hide some magazines And put the Bible where they’d been? Would you hide your worldly music and put some hymn books out? Could you let Jesus walk right in, or would you rush about? And I wonder—if the Savior spent a day or two with you, Would you go right on doing, the things you always do? Would you go right on saying, the things you always say? Or would life for you continue as it does from day to day? Would you take Jesus with you everywhere you go? Or would you maybe change your plans for just a day or so? Would you be glad to have Him meet your closest friends? Or would you hope they stay away, until His visit ends? Would you be glad to have Him stay forever on and on? Or would you sigh with great relief when He at last was gone? It might be interesting to know, the things that you would do, If Jesus came in person, to spend some time with you.2

If Jesus would come to your house, would there be evidence of a transformed life or would you be too ashamed to have Him as your guest?

Romans 12:1 ¶ I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.

2 And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.

Did you know that Jesus has come to your house?

Do you know that he knows you better than you know yourself?

Did you know that those who live a double life cannot hide from God?

Matthew 16:24 ¶ Then said Jesus unto his disciples, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me.

25 For whosoever will save his life shall lose it: and whosoever will lose his life for my sake shall find it.

26 For what is a man profited, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul?

27 For the Son of man shall come in the glory of his Father with his angels; and then he shall reward every man according to his works.

1John 1:5 ¶ This then is the message which we have heard of him, and declare unto you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all.

6 If we say that we have fellowship with him, and walk in darkness, we lie, and do not the truth:

7 But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.

8 ¶ If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.

9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

Is your life a representation of Jesus?

Have you made room for Him?

Have you repented of your sin and your sin nature and allowed Jesus to take control?

What is Repentance?

-Repentance is turning from the old to a new life that is found in Jesus Christ.

-To continue living in sin is evidence of a life in need of repentance.

What will you give to Jesus or what do you have to offer Him?

-You cannot earn your salvation because salvation is a free gift but the greatest thing you can give to Jesus is You.

-your life

-your mind

-your will

-your emotions

and you can allow Jesus to fill your spirit with His Spirit!

How is this possible?

  1. I need to realize that I am a sinner in need of a Savior and that my sin has separated me from God.
  2. I need to repent and turn from sin in order to make room for Jesus.
  3. If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

When we have experienced the new birth, is it ok to continue in sin?

-Can you live in sin and have a close relationship with Jesus?

6 If we say that we have fellowship with him, and walk in darkness, we lie, and do not the truth:

We cannot serve to masters.

-We will either serve God or we will serve the god of this world.

Matthew 6:24 No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon.

When we are willing to take up our cross and follow Jesus there is something that takes place within.

-Our old nature is replaced with His Nature and we lose our appetite for sin.

The Birth of Jesus

Matthew 1:18-25

18 ¶ Now the birth of Jesus Christ was on this wise: When as his mother Mary was espoused to Joseph, before they came together, she was found with child of the Holy Ghost.

19 Then Joseph her husband, being a just man, and not willing to make her a publick example, was minded to put her away privily.

20 But while he thought on these things, behold, the angel of the Lord appeared unto him in a dream, saying, Joseph, thou son of David, fear not to take unto thee Mary thy wife: for that which is conceived in her is of the Holy Ghost.

21 And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name JESUS: for he shall save his people from their sins.

22 Now all this was done, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken of the Lord by the prophet, saying,

23 Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us.

24 Then Joseph being raised from sleep did as the angel of the Lord had bidden him, and took unto him his wife:

25 And knew her not till she had brought forth her firstborn son: and he called his name JESUS.

Luke 2:4-7

4 And Joseph also went up from Galilee, out of the city of Nazareth, into Judaea, unto the city of David, which is called Bethlehem; (because he was of the house and lineage of David:)

5 To be taxed with Mary his espoused wife, being great with child.

6 And so it was, that, while they were there, the days were accomplished that she should be delivered.

7 And she brought forth her firstborn son, and wrapped him in swaddling clothes, and laid him in a manger; because there was no room for them in the inn.
