LIES!

Lies that are easy to believe:
  -No one really cares!
-I will never be good enough!
  -I can not change!
-No one understands what I am going through!
  -I have nothing to offer!
-I need to act like I have things together so that people will accept me!
  -I am ugly!
-Someone else is the cause of my bitterness!
-If God was a God of Love, he would have made me differently!
Have you ever believed a lie?
How important is it to identify what is truth and what is a lie?
-why?
Can you know or identify what a lie is without knowing the truth?
Can you know the Truth and be oblivious to lies?
Where do lies come from?
-Satan
Who is Satan?
Satan is:
1. The father of lies.
2. The god of this world.
3. The enemy of righteousness.
4. The author of sin.
5. The prince of darkness
6. And the author of deceit.
Have you fallen into the trap of the devil, the great and terrible deceiver?
Where does the Devil or Satan come from?
The Devil was created as an angel of light
The Devil is a creature and not the Creator.
The Devil was cast out of heaven because….
……. he exalted himself above God.
What has the Devil been doing ever since he has been cast out of heaven?
He has been going about the earth deceiving, lying, and destroying.
1Peter 5:8¶ Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour:
The devil wants to destroy you and he will often do it by attacking you on an emotional level.
John 8:44 (description of the devil)…………. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it.
If the devil is a liar and the father of lies, then why do we believe him?
Could it be that we believe his lies when we lose site  of the truth?
John 18:38 Pilate saith unto him, What is truth?
How often have you asked the same question?
-What is truth?
John 14:6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.
Jesus is:
-The Way
-The Truth
-The Life
Have you lost your way?
-or maybe you feel that you have never found the Way.
Are you searching for truth?
How about personally knowing the one that is Truth!?
Do you feel like your life is in shambles?
How about allowing Jesus to give you true Life!?
If Jesus is the way, the truth, and the life…..how about just simply believing what he says about you and me?
Instead of believing the lies…
 -identify the source
 -reject the lies.
-and personally get to know truth!
How can we know truth?
– We need to personally know the One that is Truth!
John 8:31 ¶ Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on him, If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed;
32 And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.
33 They answered him, We be Abraham’s seed, and were never in bondage to any man: how sayest thou, Ye shall be made free?
34 Jesus answered them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Whosoever committeth sin is the servant of sin.
35 And the servant abideth not in the house for ever: but the Son abideth ever.
36 If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed.
Jesus Christ desires to make you free!
Look at how the Jews responded in vs. 33 after Jesus told them that they can know the truth and the truth will set them free.
-We are Abraham’s descendants and are not in bondage!
Jesus knew that they lived in bondage.
Vs. 34 Jesus said…..Whosoever committeth sin is the servant of sin.
Jesus also sees the very needs of our heart.
There is only One that can deliver us from the power of sin and that is Jesus!
We no longer need to be bound by lies!
36 If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed.
How can we find true freedom?
Matthew 11:28 Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.
29 Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls.
30 For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.
There is no place so secure as in the arms of Jesus!
Are you finding your self worth in Jesus or are you looking to people for some sense of value and self worth?
Have you found your security in Jesus Christ, or do you find yourself worrying about what other people will say or think of you?
The truth is that unless we find our security and self worth in Christ we will continue to believe the lies of the Devil.
The choice is yours!
Freedom in Christ {or} Bondage through sin.
God Loves You!
Jeremiah 31:3 The LORD hath appeared of old unto me, saying, Yea, I have loved thee with an everlasting love: therefore with lovingkindness have I drawn thee.
1John 4:19 We love him, because he first loved us.
Galatians 2:20 I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.
Romans 8:35 Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword?
36 As it is written, For thy sake we are killed all the day long; we are accounted as sheep for the slaughter.
37 Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us.
38 For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come,
39 Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
Eph 2:4 ¶ But God, who is rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved us,
5 Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved;)
6 And hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus:
7 That in the ages to come he might shew the exceeding riches of his grace in his kindness toward us through Christ Jesus.
8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:
9 Not of works, lest any man should boast.
10 For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.
We are His workmanship!
Do you believe that?
God wants to make something beautiful out of us!
….not so we have something to glory in but so we will bring glory to Him!
Will we believe what God says about us or will we continually fall for the lies of the devil?
When we look at the mirror…..who do you see now versus in the beginning?
When we believe what Jesus says; He becomes the focus and not ourselves!
